๐ŸŒ  The Local Group

A small cosmic neighborhood of galaxies โ€” bound together by gravity, drifting through deep time.

What Is the Local Group?

The Local Group is a cluster of over 80+ galaxies including:
  • ๐ŸŒŒ The Milky Way
  • ๐ŸŒŒ The Andromeda Galaxy
  • ๐ŸŒŒ The Triangulum Galaxy
  • ๐ŸŒŸ Dozens of dwarf galaxies
Together, they form a slowly evolving family โ€” one day destined to collide and merge.

Major Members

๐ŸŒŒ Andromeda โ€” Largest in the Local Group, moving toward us.
๐ŸŒŒ Milky Way โ€” Our home galaxy.
๐ŸŒŒ Triangulum โ€” A smaller spiral galaxy.
๐Ÿ›ธ Magellanic Clouds โ€” Satellite galaxies orbiting the Milky Way.

Fate: Collision & Rebirth

In about 4 billion years, the Milky Way and Andromeda will collide โ€” forming a new galaxy: Milkdromeda or Milkomeda.
