Overview

Luna-25 (also called Luna-Glob) was a modern Russian mission aiming to return to the Moon with a robotic lander, targeting the lunar south polar region. Its goals included studying the regolith, exosphere, and potential volatile deposits.

Although the mission did not achieve a successful landing, it marked a renewed interest in lunar exploration and contributed engineering and operations experience for future attempts.
